End-to-End Branding: From Strategy to Café front

I led the strategic rebrand and café identity, extending the brand’s visual language into packaging, menu design, and in‑space touchpoints. Working closely with the founder, we ensured the redesign stayed true to the brand’s heritage while positioning it to thrive as a modern, welcoming café aligned with its new business goals.

Brand Story

Sweet Sensations began as a home bakery in Shimla in 2016, specialising in personalised eggless cakes and desserts. In 2023, it evolved into a neighbourhood café, expanding its offering and physical presence.

Challenge

To craft a brand that felt both familiar and fresh, capturing the emotional warmth of a beloved home bakery, while thoughtfully evolving it into a cohesive, inviting identity for its next chapter as a physical café.

About the Place

The Heritage Trail is a place designed to immerse visitors in the charm of colonial-era architecture of Shimla and storytelling. Within this historically rich space, Sweet Sensations was brought in as the in-house cafe brand, known for its decadent delicacies and vibrant identity.

Project Scope

• My work involved applying the brand's visual language such as the logo and decorative elements across the space to ensure a cohesive presence within the historically themed environment.

̐• Designing all customer-facing collaterals, including the menu card and other print materials to reflect the brand’s tone while harmonising with the heritage aesthetic.

• While I led the design independently, I worked closely with the founders throughout the process to ensure alignment with their vision and feedback.

The Challenge

The key challenge was to create a cohesive visual and experiential identity that felt true to both—respecting the place’s British Victorian charm while allowing Sweet Sensations’ modern, contemporary vibe to shine through.

Designing the cafe identity for Sweet Sensations within the Heritage Trail space required striking a balance between two contrasting aesthetics.
